This is what I've had to be doing for a while. Literally all you have to do, it seems, to circumvent the glitch is to stand directly on top of the item. I have tried this on many items in game and it works extremely consistently.

Since I listen to J. Cole I was smart enough to figure out the actual solution.
Also something i have noticed with this is that you should NOT try and drag it into your bag, this will likely cause the item to be untakeable. I think this is a desync problem. Worked for me pretty well. Some items will glitch out and you can't pick them up. It's not like an exact position or anything, but you do want to be right over top of it. Did that, still didn't work. This was reported as an issue in this patch.
