You can dig down, when you get to the point of a height which is called 12.6, you can check by pressing F3. Please help me It will show you where exactly diamond is (and other resources) so you won't have to guess.
If you press F3 you'll see your 'Y' coordinate around 6 or so. I have a smaller one of these, and each tunnel I mined was around five or six chunks long. As a side note, if you really don't want to do any more digging, use Minecraft X-ray. Try digging around lava, thats where I usually find diamonds. It would look like this "y=12.6"
but thats crazy though stilly 11 is the best to find them tho most people mine at y12 to avoid lavaPress J to jump to the feed.
