Set in Swtizerland , and England ,this nail-biting thriller focuses on Lucas, (Sam Worthington) , a loner killer , hired to murder a young girl , sixteen-year-old Ella, (Odeya Rush) whose life takes a tailspin . Was this review helpful? Never saw a junkie in my life before that could still act normally, especially being a contract killer where you need some accuracy. Sam Worthington he tries what he does best in movie. Problem is Lucas cannot do it. The brief, redemptive scenes tacked on at the end may stink of studio interference, as the film would have been better served had it ended a few minutes prior on the ambiguous note between Lucas and Ella, but despite the intermittent flashes of recycled genre tropes, The Hunter’s Prayer provides the sort of cogent and compact visceral thrills that are in short supply in recent American action cinema. One part to this film is actions and thrills - a professional assassin who forges an unlikely partnership with one of his targets. Scene by scene.
